RemainAI is a place to capture notes, todos, rituals and links, file them under tags, and have AI act on them. These terms cover the hosted service at remainai.org and its apps: the web app, the Android app, the remain command line, the MCP connector, the Telegram bot and RemainAI Posts. "We" and "us" means RemainAI, which runs it.
By creating an account you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
RemainAI's source code is open. If you run your own copy, the code's license applies to that, not these terms.
2. Your account
You must be at least 18 and old enough where you live to agree to these terms yourself.
You can sign up with an email and password, or with Google or GitHub. Use an address you control: it is how we reach you, and how you get back in if you forget your password.
Keep your password and devices safe. You are responsible for what happens under your account, including through apps and connectors you approve.
One account is for one person. Do not share it or sell it.
3. Your content
You keep every right you have in what you put into RemainAI: notes, todos, tags and their instructions, images, and everything else. You give us only the permission we need to run the service for you: to store it, back it up, process it, show it to you on your devices, send it to the providers that power the features you use, and, when you publish, show it to the public.
That permission ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from the short tail described in the Privacy Policy (backups, and replies other people made to your responses).
You are responsible for having the right to put your content in, and for what you publish.
4. AI features
Filing a capture under a tag, running a tag's instructions, answering a question from your notes, defining a word and summarizing an article all use an AI model. To do that, the content involved is sent to our AI provider. Voice input is sent to a transcription provider. The Privacy Policy names both and says exactly what goes where.
AI output can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. Check anything that matters before you rely on it. It is not professional advice.
Anthropic, OpenAI and DeepSeek may process relevant text, including when a request falls back after a service failure. Do not submit sensitive personal information or other people's personal information without the necessary permission. Do not use AI output as the sole basis for medical, legal, financial or other significant decisions about people.
When you publish or share AI-generated text, clearly identify it as AI-generated or AI-assisted and verify its important claims. You must follow the applicable Anthropic Usage Policy, OpenAI Usage Policies and DeepSeek Terms. Do not attempt to bypass safety refusals, provider restrictions or account suspensions.
5. Publishing on RemainAI Posts
You can publish a note to posts.remainai.org. A published post is public: anyone can read it, it appears in RSS feeds, search engines can index it, and its earlier versions stay visible alongside it. It carries your handle and display name. Responses you write to other people's posts are public in the same way.
You can unpublish a post at any time. Copies other people or services already made may remain outside our control.
Readers can report posts and responses. We may take down anything that breaks these terms or the law; a takedown cannot be undone by the author.
6. Acceptable use
Do not use RemainAI to:
break the law, or help someone else break it;
publish content that harasses, threatens, or exposes the private information of others, or that sexualizes minors;
publish content that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark or other rights;
spread malware, phishing, or spam, including spam posts and responses;
probe, overload, or break into the service or other people's accounts, or get around its limits, including credit and rate limits;
point the feed reader, connectors or any other feature at systems you have no right to reach;
resell the service, or run automated sign-ups.
If you do, we may remove content, limit features, or suspend or close the account. Where it is safe and lawful, we will tell you why.
7. Feeds, connectors, the command line and Telegram
Feeds. When you add a feed, our server fetches it and the articles in it on your behalf, for your personal reading. Articles belong to their publishers.
Connectors and the command line. An AI assistant you connect over MCP, or a terminal you sign in with the remain command line, acts as you, within the permissions you approved. You can end any connection from Settings, and it stops on its next request.
Telegram. Linking a Telegram account lets that chat capture into your library and use its features as you. Telegram's own terms apply to Telegram. You can unlink it from Settings at any time.
8. Credits, plans and payments
AI features use credits. New accounts start with a one-time trial allowance. Plans add a monthly allowance; the price, length and allowance are shown in the app before you pay.
One AI credit represents $0.0001 of published model list-price cost, rounded up per successful call. The amount varies by model, token counts and caching. DeepSeek is priced using its peak list rates; off-peak or account discounts are not included. A fallback attempt that returns no model response does not consume user credits.
You pay by sending stablecoins to a deposit address the app shows you, on one of the networks it lists. Blockchain payments cannot be reversed. Sending the wrong token, or on the wrong network, can lose the funds, and we may not be able to recover them.
Your balance can pay for a plan when it renews. Renewal is on by default and you can turn it off in the app.
Credits and balance have no cash value and cannot be withdrawn or transferred. Monthly allowances reset each month and do not carry over.
Payments are not refunded, except where the law requires it.
We may change prices. A change never affects a plan you have already paid for.
9. The service, and changes to it
RemainAI is new and still changing. Features may be added, changed or removed, and the service may sometimes be unavailable. We keep nightly backups, but you should keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose: Settings has an export of your whole library.
10. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time from Settings, under Your data. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone; the Privacy Policy says what is removed and the little that remains. We may close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms.
11. Warranties and liability
The service is provided as it is and as available. As far as the law allows, we make no promise that it will be uninterrupted, error free, or fit for a particular purpose.
As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data or profits, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or takes away rights you have as a consumer.
12. Changes to these terms
When these terms change, the version number above goes up. If a change matters to you, we will say so in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use RemainAI after that means you accept the new terms; if you do not, you can export your data and delete your account.
