Capture

Notes that file themselves

Type what is on your mind into one box. RemainAI reads it and puts it under one of your tags, or suggests a new tag when nothing you have fits.

How the filing works

There is one capture box. A task, a link, a recipe, a line from a lecture: you type it the way it comes and press Save. RemainAI saves it first, so nothing is lost, then reads it and picks the tag it belongs to from the tags you already have.

When none of your tags fit, it suggests a new one instead of pushing the item into the wrong place. Start with "remind me to" and it becomes a todo, grouped under the same tag as everything else about that subject.

The capture page: one box, and recent captures filed under recipes, ideas, books, journal and papers.

When it guesses wrong

Move the item to the right tag with a click. RemainAI keeps your recent corrections and the titles already filed under each tag, and reads them the next time something comes in, so it files the way you do and not the way a stranger would.

Tags that do work

Any tag can carry one instruction in plain English, and everything filed under it goes through that instruction. A #recipes tag can turn a paragraph into a shopping list. A #reading tag can summarize an article and name one thing to try. The answer is saved on the item, and you can edit it by hand.

An answer can be text, yes or no, a number, or one of your own labels, so you get something you can sort by. Nested tags stack: an instruction on #work runs before the one on #work/hiring.

Your notes stay yours

Everything downloads as Markdown (a folder per tag) or JSON from Settings, and the remain command can keep a folder in an Obsidian vault up to date. See Obsidian and plain files.

Where you can capture

In the browser, on Android, from a terminal, from Telegram by text or voice, and from Claude or any MCP app. All of them file into the same library the same way.

Try it on your own notes

Sign up, type the first thing on your mind, and see where it lands. It works in the browser, on Android and in a terminal.
