Plain files
Capture with AI, keep it in Obsidian
Capture fast in RemainAI, on your phone, in Telegram or from a terminal, and keep a copy in your Obsidian vault as plain Markdown. Nothing about the files needs RemainAI to read.
Sync into a vault
remain sync obsidian ~/vault/RemainAI
- One folder per tag, one Markdown file per item, each with its tag and the answer its tag's instruction wrote.
- Run it again and only what changed is written. A file you edited in Obsidian is left alone.
- It goes one way, from RemainAI into the folder.
--dry-runshows what it would do, and--pruneremoves files for items you deleted.

Bring Markdown in
remain import ~/old-notes --dry-run
remain import turns Markdown files into notes, marked as imported. It scans first, shows the plan and asks before it writes anything, and your files are only read. remain import undo moves what an import made to the Trash.
Download everything
Settings downloads your whole library as a zip of Markdown (a folder per tag) or as JSON. Any single note also saves as Markdown or PDF.
Why capture somewhere else
Obsidian is a good place to keep and link notes. RemainAI is for the moment you have the thought: one box that files it for you, a Telegram bot for when you are away from the desk, and tags that run an instruction on whatever lands in them. See how the filing works.
Try it on your own notes
Sign up, type the first thing on your mind, and see where it lands. It works in the browser, on Android and in a terminal.
